Filipino Culture Night
Every spring, our organization hosts a grand showcase in Tate Grand Hall that draws families and friends from across the state of Georgia.
We perform a series of traditional and modern dances, a fashion show, a movie and more (with dinner, of course!) to create a picture of Filipino culture to those who are and aren’t familiar with the Philippines.
What is Filipino Culture?
Culture can encompass tangible things like food, song, and dance. However, it is also much more than that. Culture is also defined by the community of people with a shared history, stories, and experiences. We try to embody this with every dance, skit, and song we perform.
With this interpretation, we are able to create a show that melds island traditions with a modern twist!
How can I get involved?
The planning and implementation of Culture Night are completely run by students with the help of our community. Every year we form committees and send out casting calls to students who want to get more involved with FSA. If you are an interested student, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
In addition, we also accept sponsorship donations from businesses and individuals in our community. Sponsors of our show are given free tickets, featured in our program, and recognized on stage during the show. Visit our current FCN page above for more information on Culture Night and how to become a sponsor.
